Trend Alert: Pied-de-poule

pieddepoule
Pied-de-poule is a trend we have seen on the runways of the fall/winter 2013/2014 and spring/summer 2014 collections. This trend is defenitely here to stay for at least a little longer…

In the spring 2014 campaign of Balmain, Rihanna is wearing a beautiful skirt and blazer in pied-de-poule print.

A fun fact: ‘pied-de-poule’ is a french word, which means ‘chickenfeet’. The print has been given this name because of its resemblance to chicken feet. The term ‘houndstooth’ is also often used for the print.

Pied-de-poule is a print that makes a comeback every few years on the runways. Its class and elegance make it a perfect print to wear to the office or a chic event. Just add a pop of color with a bright item or red lipstick. But remember: do not go overboard as the print already stands out by itself.
