I bet you too, after 3-4 or 5 visits to a city stats feeling like “I know this town like I was brought up here” and start going around giving advice to everyone about where “You should definitely go”. Well, Marrakech is a city full of secrets and hidden gems behind dark alleys and abandoned houses. Its a city that will always manage to surprise you no matter how many times you visit and you may never feel like you know it too well. After a brief visit in Marrakech with Xenia and some local friends, I would love to share with you a few of discoveries in the city.

Like all places it is best to explore lead by a local. Don’t be afraid to explore the narrow streets of the Medina and discover hidden restaurants where you will try the exotic Moroccan delicacies. My newly discovered favourite restaurant is Riad Lotus Privilege. I will not give you too many details on how to find it, as this is the beauty of this place. Once though you are there, enjoy the beautiful music and elegant performance of the dancers. Order a tasting menu to not miss out on any of the delicacies which combine modern touches with Moroccan gastronomy. Last but not least do not forget to try a glass of tasty Moroccan wine.

Time for a drink and to exercise your social skills. Go to Bo-Zin, and sip a cocktail on a terrace that overlooks the exotic garden where fountains and summer lounges were designed for your well-being. Accept this invitation to dream and let the mixture of the Zen spirit and elegance take you deep in the Moroccan experience.

If you are feeling a bit adventurous, I would recommend a visit to the Selman Hotel. The Selman, except from one of the most amazing burgers I have ever had (at the beautiful restaurant on a courtyard overlooking a long pool surrounded by Palm trees), is the home of 16 Arabian Thoroughbred Studs. If you are lucky to visit at the right time and you are a certified rider you may get the chance to ride one of the most beautiful horses in the world.
