Thanks to my long-term sunglasses sponsor Visilab, I had the pleasure to enjoy the Gstaad Tennis Open for the third year in a row. Gstaad is for sure one of the most luxurious mountain spots and ski-resorts of the planet, with its expensive hotels, high class society and international Jet Set. The world-famous Institute Le Rosey and Gstaad International School have campus in this popular mountain destination and count amongst the most prestigious and academically intensive boarding schools.
Amongst the fantastic welcome of the hotels and the tennis hospitality, me and the other testimonials of Visilab – Bernhard Russi the ski star, Dominique Wavre the world sailor and Stanislas Wawrinka a Swiss tennis star and currently the number 10 racket in the world, attended numerous media-photoshoots and sponsor events. We also had the pleasure to enjoy the fresh mountain air, sunny days, luxury venues and of course a top level tennis game.
Sadly for Switzerland the beloved Roger Federer, who was returning to Gstaad for the first time since 2004, didn’t make it through the first-round match against the German Brands and Stan had to abandon due to a back injury while playing the quarter-final against the Spaniard Feliciano Lopez. Despite some disappointment for the Swiss fans, the show must go on.
The final is today, will Mikhail Youzhny become the first Russian champion at the Crédit Agricole Suisse Open Gstaad in 18 years? The 26 year old Robin Haase will for sure fight until the end.
Let the best win.
